Ash

We have had lots of fun learning about fire this week with a visit from our local firemen. We have been learning about how the tiger became a cat through the story of Tiger child. We learnt how to divide numbers including those with remainders in numeracy. Wow what a busy week we have had this week! Don’t forget to check your child’s profile there are lots more pictures on there.

Back to work in Ash

We were all very happy and excited to be back at school this week as its the start of the summer term and hopefully the warm weather will soon follow! We have been working hard finding right angles in maths and made our own right angle monsters to help us with the task this week. Year 1′s have made a big splash at the swimming pool with their first swimming lesson and how excited were they before and after their lesson. We have been finding out about causes of fire this week and the children have painted picture to go with a question they want to find more about. Please come into the classroom and look at our stunning art work!

Creepy things happening in Ash class

Lots of fun was had by all in our spooky classroom! First the cauldron bubbled over as Mrs Rutter said her magic words and stirred the blood red potion. After the screams and Wow’s, the children who dared, put their hands into the witches secret dish where they found something very wet, sticky and cold (jelly containing frogs, spiders and skeletons). We then enjoy the rest of Let’s Explore Halloween whilst having fun making cauldrons and pumpkins with playdoh and painted some fantastic scary pictures. We constructed spooky houses out of Lego and wrote some fantastic spells so just watch out they may just work!!!

Something fishy in ash class

We all had lots of fun investigating a real Mackerel as part of our literacy work today. We used our senses to help us think of some describing words, as we looked very closely and pulled it apart. We retold the story of Little jack using puppets and playdoh and we made up our own actions to retell the story together.
