Elm’s Assembly about Toys.

Thank you for a super class Assembly today, Elm. You were amazing!

Gardening Club – Winter, Week 3.

The gardeners decided they would like to make bird feeders to help our feathered friends during the winter months. Today we made seed feeders from recycled milk containers, drinks bottles and wooden spoons. They are already hanging in the Jubilee Garden, ready for visitors to land on the wooden spoon, where a hole in the bottle allows the seed to spill out for feeding. Next time, we are making fat-ball type feeders with lard, mealworms and birdseed. Yum!!

Gardening Club. Winter, Week 2.

More members joined our club today and their help in the garden was much appreciated! We began by sorting out the broken bird feeders and refilling the new ones with seed, fat balls and suet blocks. Then we tidied the leaves and added some more twigs and leaf litter to the bug hotel, where there is currently a large, intricate spider web. We noticed that one of the bulbs we planted in the Autumn has already flowered - a beautiful white snowdrop! Several people would like us to make our own bird feeders, so that will be our next task!

Letters and Sounds in KS1

Today we worked on the ow blend as in bowl and also in growl. We made some excellent sentences containing words which have this blend. .

Gardening Club, Winter – Week 1

It was quite rainy today so we had a mixture of indoor and outdoor activities. We prepared the new wall display to show our winter gardening and our new gardeners. Outside in the Jubilee Garden, we replenished the bird feeders, topped up the bug hotel with fallen twigs from the many trees and inspected the spring flowers which are already shooting!
